About the organisation

Note Printing Australia (NPA) manufactures Australia's banknotes and passports, serving both domestic and export customers for over 100 years. NPA operates under the highest standards of security, quality and regulatory compliance, reflecting the critical nature of its products to Australian society. This organisation is guided by values of respect, accountability, integrity, safety and excellence across all aspects of its operations.

About the role

The Manager, Digital Strategy and Information Technology is a fixed-term, two-year senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The Manager is accountable for stabilising, modernising and governing NPA's IT function, with a mandate to deliver defined transformation outcomes across the contract period. This includes strengthening cyber security maturity, establishing fit-for-purpose technology governance, and modernising core platforms and services within NPA's high-security operating environment. The Manager also fulfils the functional responsibilities of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), with accountability for cyber security strategy, controls, assurance and incident management. A key objective of the role is to leave behind a sustainable, enduring IT capability at the conclusion of the contract term, supported by a structured and capable team of approximately two to three direct reports.

About you

You are a senior IT leader with extensive experience in complex, risk-sensitive organisations, ideally with exposure to manufacturing or similarly regulated environments. Your ability to translate strategic intent into sequenced, costed technology roadmaps, and to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, is well established. You bring advanced knowledge of cyber security governance, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance, alongside the financial acumen to manage both OPEX and CAPEX budgets with discipline. Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline are expected, as are certifications in recognised IT service, project or risk management methodologies. You are comfortable leading through change, managing vendor relationships, and building capability within a team operating under tight deadlines and competing demands.
